With our Twitch integration, you can award entries to users who complete the available actions we support.
We verify the steps have been completed by contacting the Twitch API. In order for a user to complete any Twitch steps, they must first link their Twitch account to GiveLab.
When adding Twitch as an entry step to your giveaway, you’ll see the following options:
Available Actions
Follow on Twitch
Award entries to users who follow a channel on Twitch.
Configuration Options:
Step Title: This is where you enter the text that will be displayed for this particular step in your giveaway
Worth # Entries: How many entries will be awarded to the user by completing this step. (Example: If you want an entrant to receive 5 entries in the entry pool for completing this step, you would enter 5.)
Channel Name: The username of the channel on Twitch to be followed (the username)
Things to note:
- If you change your Twitch username during the giveaway, you will need to update the username field in the configuration options as soon as possible. Users will be unable to verify their entires until the username is updated.
Subscribe on Twitch
Award entries to users who subscribe to a channel on Twitch.
- Users who are already subscribed to your channel can still receive entries – they don’t need to unsubscribe and then re-subscribe to receive the entries.
- It is generally not advised to run a giveaway where the only step before using “Unlockable Steps” is to Subscribe on Twitch in order to unlock further steps. This would effectively be “pay to win” which is frowned upon by ‘No Purchase Necessary’ laws.
