Creating a giveaway or competition is your first step to building your brand, increasing your audience and generating leads. We have made the creation process as simple and straightforward as possible – in fact, you should be able to create your giveaway in around 5 minutes.
Before you get started, we recommend the following for a successful campaign:
- Choose a relevant but engaging title for your giveaway that will get people interested
- Design an eye-catching featured image that highlights your giveaway on social media platforms/marketing materials
- Choose entry steps that promote viral engagement such as Refer-a-Friend, Retweet & Tweet steps on Twitter, Share on Facebook etc.
- Share your giveaway on social media platforms, or send an email to your existing email list to encourage entries and engagement
When creating a giveaway, you will see 6 tabs – Details, Steps, Prizes, Eligibility, Customization and Visibility. Select each category below for setup and configuration guides.
The first step when creating your giveaway is to include important and required information, such as your giveaway title, description, rules/terms & conditions and when you’d like your giveaway to start/finish.
Adding steps to your giveaway is where you define the tasks you’d like contestants to complete. Depending on what you are trying to promote or achieve with your giveaway, you’ll want to choose the most relevant steps to your brand/business/channel.
When running a giveaway or competition, it’s likely you are giving away a prize of some kind, whether it be a physical good/product or something digital. There is no limit to what you can giveaway on our platform, and adding prize information is important for the winner picking process.
If you want to restrict entries to your giveaway based on the location of the contestant, you can choose which countries can participate in your giveaway – any countries not selected will be unable to participate in the giveaway, but can still view the giveaway.
Customizing your giveaway and competition is an important factor in promoting and encouraging entries by contestants. By having an eye-catching featured image, it will attract the attention of contestants on social media platforms and/or your website.
We provide visibility options for your giveaway which are specific to how your giveaway is shown on GiveLab.com. These options do not impact who can view and enter your giveaway – only how the giveaway is publicized on our platform.
Previewing and Editing Giveaway
If you’re in the process of creating a giveaway and want to see a preview, although we don’t have a “preview” mode specifically, you can simply publish your giveaway when ready.
Once the giveaway is published, you’ll be able to view your giveaway as it will appear to your entrants. Alongside this, you will still be able to make any edits you’d like to your giveaway, including; adding/changing/removing steps, updating your giveaway image, making changes to the title/description/rules and anything else you would have done during the create process of your giveaway.
